  • View from the greenhouse door

Having just stuck my nose in the greenhouse to see what was happening, I always marvel at the growth and productivity compared to the outdoors.

It's not meant to be a competition, but I'd be interested in seeing other peoples "view from the greenhouse door"

    My greenhouse

Cucumber down the end fruiting nicely ("Tasty King")... three or for on the go having just picked two.

Tomatoes on the right are Gardeners Delight
Tomatoes on the left are Alisa Craig
Chillis on the standing are "heatwave"
And a few Jalapeno's on the right on the floor.
And another cucumber just on the left inside the door.

    Plus a few tomatoes..."Wilma"

My greenhouse is like a scene from "Day of the Triffids". It's only a little one (8' x 6'). My chillies are on the bench across the far end, and there are four humungous tomato plants along each side.

        Here's one from last month..

Difficult to get in there now - the toms are much larger, and there's a watering system's pipework all over the place!

These are of my 6'x12' on my allotment, this year in #1 and last year in #2. I usually only have 8 plants down each side as I find any more than that is asking for problems with grey mould...

Hmm.. I may try the B&Q buckers for toms next year, I have loads. Looks more room for them to grow into, compared to the flower buckets I'm using

The greenhouse is really the wifes domain & is largely cacti & succulents ......

Yeah, very good for that, they're that bit bigger than flower buckets so plent of room for them and they are also a little bit more stable on the ground (and still cheaper than normal tomato sized pots)... even comes with a free carrying handle

...and if you'd rather not orange buckets, you can go to Hombase (green?) and you used to be able to go to Focus (blue?)
