  • H.F.W and Hemp??

Did anyone else think the same as me with regard to H.F.W comment on "Growing your own hemp", when I was younger Hemp or should I say the leaf of the hemp plant was used for "Recreational Purposes" shall we say, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it illegal to grow it or is there some other sort of hemp I've missed????

By the way the bread he baked with the flour from the hemp looked yummy!

Hi Ginger - I think growing it could cause a stir on my lottie site! There will be a few people who will want to harvest it! But I have seen the odd field growing - the de-activated kind!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I'd imagine he's promoting the stuff that's been modified to not contain THC...which is the chemical what gives you the high!
      I'm sure there's a very scientific way to explain...but as I'm no scientist,afraid that's the best I can do!

One is sativa indica (marijuana) and the other is sativa sativa (hemp) - body shop uses the latter in several beauty products.

Yeah I think hemp is legal, cause you can buy hemp bags and stuff, not sure of the full legalities though...

You have to have a licence to grow hemp I think, definitely on a field scale you do. It is a traditional crop for this country though, it's been used to make rope for goodness knows how long! It's also grown for animal bedding these days - Hemcore being one of them.

I would have thought that even growing sativa sativa (hemp) as opposed to sativa indica (maraijuana) would prove slightly dodgy for most of us, after all I seem to recall a thread from a couple of months ago which made it plain that most people's local constabulary can't tell the difference between waccy baccy and tomato plants. 'I'm going to use it to make ropes and the by-products are for my chickens to sleep on, officer', would probably cause chaos.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Hemp is legal but when you consider the amount of stories of officals that can't tell the difference between marijuana and tomatoes (ans the people who call them for that matter), would you want the hassle for the amount of oil and flour you could get out of an allotment?

Must say though that the potted rabbit and rabbit haggis looked lovely, and I definitely want a pair of real bunny slippers.

You need a license to grow hemp. The grower needs to provide details of seed source, purpose, possessions, preparations and supply. The hemp needs to be a very low THC variety. Drug Squad officers will arrange a site visit to ensure that crops are well away from roads and public rights of way. http://www.hemcore.co.uk/legal.htm
