Slug & Snail Shocka

Do these Slugs look like they are been Shocked !!



Found these two today in my veggie plants and thought yer give them a shock, so i put them on the slug & snail shocka mat to see how they did.
all they did was crawl off.

The fabric is coated with copper which slugs and snails do not like to cross - and it apparently gives them a shock similar to when tin foil makes contact with an amalgum tooth filling!

seems like you got the shock garden plot ,perhapps it was more of a gee-up they got,or imunity from eating your vegg

I would imagine the purpose of the mat is that only part of the slug touches it (the rest still being on the earth). The same principle as to why birds can happily sit on power cables between pylons. You can't get an electric shock unless you are earthed.

I've just bought some copper strip on the internet to surround my beds with - I thought it worked well last year
