Wasn't it just! Thunder and lightning and huge raindrops! Just come back from the Hill where the earth has been splashed well up the broad beans. Gorgeous now, though.Originally posted by Bex View PostBig storm here this afternoon, and judging by the sky at the moment another one is on its way.Last edited by Hazel at the Hill; 31-05-2007, 06:56 PM.

Nice rain: my fully fledged quails are outside: under some shelter. They object to rain: instead of the males serenading the females, they are quiet. :-))))
Thinned out and transplanted over 100 wallflower this am: in time for afternoon's rain.
My one and only Himalayan poppy (blue) is growing in a damp and shady spot and should soon flower: then I will do what I do with all poppies: spread some seeds in wasteground/sides of paths when out walking/running... brightens up the neighbourhood next year:-)
Greenhouse water barrel 1/3 rd full this am .. now half full. Strawberries starting to ripen : 2 weeks earlier than last year...hope not too much rain or a slug feast will ensue:-(Last edited by Madasafish; 13-06-2007, 05:31 PM.
