Wilkinsons have 75% off all bulbs :- tulips, crocus, shallots etc.
Nowhere near the choice that was left last year but you may be luckier in your local store.

would it be worth me getting some shallnots for late spring planting ? I have a beer fridge they could be stored in

on the assumption that you meant shallots and not shallnots these are best stored in a dry airy frost free place otherwise there is a tendency for them to rot so best not kept in an enclosed fridge

I read this thread late last night and didn't notice the posting date - so I depatched SWMBO to the local Wilkinsons this morning.

She was all excited with the idea of a sale - just had a call from her, very disgruntled and put out that there was nothing reduced for her to furtle through.

Perhaps it might be better not to mention this ever again - definitely safer for me anyway.

If it was pay day there would have been loads more and knowing me I will get more. I have LOADS of packets and have been very good trying not to buy any, I only bought what I know I will need for next year.
