  • Dog pee on the lawn

I am sure the question has been asked before but I can't find the thread.

What remedy can you advise to help prevent dog pee from burning the lawn - apart from keeping the dog off the lawn! She lives here. I've read that watering the patch straight away can help but is there anything I can put in the water to help neutralise the nitrogen in her pee.

    Thanks

All you can do is dilute it as much as possible as quickly as you can, which is what the watering is for.

Yes, just water it in. Not so good in this weather when the grass and watering can are both frozen. I've got to re-seed our back lawn when the weather's warmer. It's too small to cope with the dog...

Apparently you can buy ‘Dog rocks’ to put in their drinking water.
My DIL had some for her female dog and they worked a treat.
I’m pretty sure she got them from the vet.
Their dog lived to a ripe old age so clearly was OK for kidneys?

Failed with ours, it's ok when its wet but dry summers we try to water but fail .
Never tried the rocks but she often prefers to drink from streams on walks instead of anything we provide.
