    Such beautiful birds and great photos. I'm doing a kingfisher cross stitch at the moment. Reminds me of boating on the Broads and a kingfisher flying alongside the boat, imprinted in my visual memory forever.

          Reserve I visit has one/more at it and everyone asks if you have seen the kingfisher. Over the years the reply has always been No. Was getting the idea that it was all made up.

          Then one day I "saw" it. I came round the pathway and off it went, all I saw was the blue/green metallic glint of feathers from its backside. This view lasted less then a second.

          Still I can say I have seen it, in a manner of speaking.

            Only ever seen one kingfisher in real life and that was in a harbour on Crete! Unfortunately no pics.
