      Probably Pyrrhosoma nymphula.
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing-'Oh how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade,
While better men than we go out and start their working lives
At grubbing weeds from gravel paths with broken dinner-knives. ~ Rudyard Kipling

This little fella came to visit last night and was quite nosey, coming right up to the back door and peering in.
Apologies for the graininess, I had to take it through the glass

We have a blackbird that sings his own tune, then finishes with a trim phone ring. If you can remember what one sounds like...have a listen.

Nothing new, but we've had an incredible amount of ladybirds this year. Doing a good job too!

The frog I haven't seen since last summer hopped out from between my flower tubs when I watered them this evening. She's bigger than last year, but not 2ft high....yet....
