  • A Skunk on the loose.

I dont know if this will be of interest but I thougth it was fascinating.

A girl at work found a skunk in her village (she is not far from me in the forest of dean).

It was definatly a skunk (it even skunked them!! ewwww).

What an exciting array of wildlife we have here in the forest. Never heard of skunks in England before?

Skunks are not native to the UK. How did it get here?

Looks like there may be quite a few near you Westforester

Skunk pack 'spotted' in English countryside - Telegraph

Of course regulations re the keeping of wild animals/non domestic species can only be for the long term good but people releasing unlicensed and/or illegal pets into the wild does seem to have resulted in a fair few 'exotic' inhabitants around the UK!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Ooooh well found Seahorse. That explains it.

We have loads of odd things here - rampaging wild boars, and white stags, lots of deer and bagers and foxes, weasles, buzzards etc. I dont suppose the additionof a few skunks would upset the balance too much.
The forest is a perculiar place - and I love it.

              Hmmmm

Being from a part of north america where one needs to be skunk-savvy when out walking the dogs at night, I've had my fair share of skunk encounters. Yuck. A skunk spray is a one of a kind experience and if you get sprayed you smell for weeks. I'm surprised and even incredulous to hear of any here but whatever the case it's not the best wildlife import in my opinion!!!
