It's a Common Sexton Beetle that basically goes around consuming dead things, not seen many in my life time, it landed on a feeding station our local club set up in a forest nearby.

Woodpeckers will feed on peanuts and fat balls, even rolls of bread(our local bird club has a hide and feeder station in our local forest and I have seen this
). This video has a GSW at the end, it nearly ate some lard, but it was frightened off.

No photo I’m afraid but we had 7 blackbirds and 4 thrushes tucking into the piles of rotting apples in the garden.
