They may yet surprise you 1Bee. I sowed 6 Hunter BNS seeds on 11th April and had given up on them because all the other squash varieties sown up to a week later had germinated. Then suddenly, yesterday, one finally popped its little head up and shouted "Hello!"Originally posted by 1Bee View PostNo show from mine yet. The Big Max and Nice de Ronde are up, so Tromba is on borrowed time until I give up and sow again...The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.

I sowed another batch today. Theone that made last sowing flopped over, the others which have kind of germinated didn't look good - the seed leaves looked like they were rotting. Think it's been too cold for too long. Hopefully these will catch up.

I am going to plant a couple in an area 3ft by3ft and evidently as they grow upwards I am hopping there will be space for either a couple of courgettes or a pumpkin the soil will be rich enough to grow them but will the area be enough for them to grow?it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I grew two quite close together a couple of years ago Rary, and the results were astonishing in terms of the amount I could harvest. Very productive, but hungry - I did feed with well rotted chicken manure and they took off!
