Looking East towards the entrance, with parsnips under the net and the raspberries beyond. I need to trim back the hedge a bit near the top as it is getting too wide up there, but that requires standing on the chair so it is less easy than the lower part.

Parsnips - the direct sown plants on the right are catching up with the chitted seeds on the left.

The cherry and blueberries and the compost area. The stalks of the PSB that was in the tunnel need chopping up and putting in the compost.

The bin at the shed end is growing a crop of self seeded tomatoes. I will have to remove these as I want to grow a courgette here. I'm also wary of allowing these to grow as the tomatoes got blight last year and I'm not sure if it can survive in seeds.

The plot next door, mainly grass and horsetail. This apparently had new owners in October, who have been seen once (not by me). I am having to cut back the hedge and the nettles that grow in it so that I can get to my plot. I hate complaining but I think I am going to have to contact the allotment person on the council - there is a long waiting list and this is very unfair.

    • Don’t they do plot inspections there,to see if the guideline amount of land is being used productively, like 70% of land needs to be plants? Doesn’t look like they’ve done anything since October, you’d think people would get stuck in,like they’ve been waiting for the day, also to meet everyone & be like a gardener

They did a plot inspection last summer, so I am hoping they will do another one. I agree, if you had been on a waiting list for years (I had to wait 3 or 4) you'd either have lost interest, in which case say no, or you'd be raring to go. They must have paid the annual fee as it is due on 1st April.
