      Yes Czech Early, is a great variety. I've been recommending it for a while and I see it's appeared in some UK catalogues this year. And it is very early. Maybe not quite as early as some hybrids but it's open pollinated so you can save seeds from it..

        I was late planting my aubergines so they're not doing a lot yet. I've got Szechuan and Rosita in the ground. Some labelled Golden Eggs in pots outdoors, though they are actually white eggs at the edible stage. Plus 3 Violetta di Firenze which got mixed up with the Eggs, but I think they are the three with a purple tint in their veins. Also one Pintung Long plant that overwintered from last year, and another new one from this year's sowing.

          I've got six aubergines described here as long rather than round. Very productive, but shredded in the hail the other day. With any luck they'll pick up.

            6 aubergines counted so far and a few more promising looking bulbous flowers. Overwintering was totally worth it!
