    • Weekend jobs

      At my friend's
Check lettuces and seedlings in greenhouse have enough water
Wrap potato buckets in greenhouse with bubble wrap

      At home
Remove any snow from cloches and nets
Adjust plans slightly to compensate for later harvests of things like spinach and beetroot that are not growing
      Pot up cauliflowers if arrive
Tidy up last year's indoor tomato and pepper plants (still fruiting in places)
Harvest salads, brokali (if not frozen), carrots

      At allotment
Check for snow and remove from tunnels and cloches
Collect snow into trugs if enough

Otherwise resist temptation to try to plant or sow anything until weather warms up!

      • Panic buying at the supermarket.
Spud trenches dug and fed... if rain holds off.
Get another batch of chillies seeded... Running out of time on that but my prop and lights haven't done me great so far... certainly not my earlier sowings
        sigpic
1574 gin and tonics please Monica, large ones.

Believe someone said Patience is required when growing peppers from seed. Mine took 5 to 6 weeks before showing their leaves. Re-sowed the Sweet peppers as they were a no show.
Sometimes you just have to scratch that itch and get dirt under your finger nails.

                • Snow has stopped play... have managed to make it to the supermarket so essentials are in for the rugby.
                  Sow chillies indoors then...
                  Igloo building tomorrow possibly...

                  • Looking out the window, I'm intending to stay warm and read a book sitting round the fire, repeat tomorrow if the weather is the same
If I get a sudden burst of energy (doubtful, I know ) I may actually do some ironing

                    • Right, no more procrastinating. Tomorrows three tasks to tackle.

Sort compost area (depending on the ground) otherwise pot on toms.
Work some more on flower cart
                      Sow sweet peas

                      • NG - how about a new thread to specifically record your achievements against your to-do list...
                        ... no pressure

We can all shout encouragement from the sidelines. I'd personally find it very motivational.

10 cm of snow now forecast overnight here, plus strong winds leading to drifts. Think I'll be indoors trying to avoid painting and repair jobs that I've managed to put off since "winter"

                        • Tomorrow is Sunday, 18th (R) - its also forecast to be Snow Day!
Weather permitting, I'll tidy bed 18,
Find the seeds to be sown on Monday (start of Leaves week) and bring some compost in to warm up.
Declutter an R (?room, rubbish, records?).

                          • looks like ground will be frozen solid tomorrow, which nicely focusses my mind on non-digging tasks!

Return borrowed fence post basher -done
Fix bench if not snowing, otherwise paint one side of the pallets in the garage - fixed bench, not done pallets
Sow second batch of broad beans-done
