Batten down hatches (again) - done
Check garden for weeds and remove any I can get at (lawn too wet to walk on) - no
      Harvest brokali, carrots - done

Went to the garden centre for a few seeds and some strulch.

      Weekend jobs
As we currently have an amber warning of rain and a yellow warning of wind, and the forecast wind speeds etc look worse than for storm Ciara here, I do not anticipate any gardening this weekend.

      • Had a good day yesterday finished prepping greenhouse 1, did a lot of weeding, relined raised bed and filled with muck, got bed ready for sweet peas and sunflowers. 2 other flower beds are showing signs of life one has a daffodil and some pink flowers from a cut flower mixed bag so not sure what's coming up, so looking forward to the surprise.

        • As expected nothing got done over the weekend apart from repairing wind damage and removing water from the garden, although I did harvest a couple of carrots.

          Monday jobs
Check for wind damage again - still very gusty
          Bale out garden again
Move stuff in garage to allow floor to dry out again
          Move germinating peas under lights
          Harvest carrots

                  • When can my garlic go in? I'm assuming it's too wet? I overwintered it last time I tried and 90% rotted. Clay soil, north Yorkshire. Cheers

Garlic needs a cold spell in order to split into cloves, so ideally you need to get them in as soon as possible. If the soil is very wet and heavy you are probably best planting them in modules, but leave the modules outside to get cold if possible. They can then get started with growing and you can plant them out if/when the ground dries up a bit.
