      I freeze mine all the time. I would take them off as soon as they go red if you are freezing anyway. The plant will then use its energy for ripening up the others. Slice ready to use as. You would in your recipe and bag in small zip lock freeze bags.

                • A couple of my jalapeno plants havnt grew very big this year. Theyre in the same size pot as all my other chillies which are all big enough.

                  Has this got anything to do with not removing enough flowers earlier in the year?

                    are they this years or last years plants ..if last years did you pot up with lot of food added.?
                    and have you given the flowers a little tickle.

                      Its this years plant. Potted it up the same as all the others.

                      I always tickle the flowers but its not pollinating im stumped on, its why these 2 plants are small. Does nipping early flowers off have an affect on the size of the plant?

                      • for me last years plants did not do so well ..but this have been great..not found that nipping early flowers off have an affect on this plant for me....maybe someone knows more .sorry not mush help'
