Here are some further pics. of the modifications I made to the growhouse:



Staples reinforcing the zip, and clear tape on the inside reinforcing all the seams.



The 'skirt', I made



Coat hanger bent over the frame to raise the roof to stop rain pooling (ignore the cable ties they were a failed attempt to do the same thing).



Cable tied to the fence, with the clear tape reinforcing around the hole, to stop it tearing the cover.

Another usefull addition is a wireless thermometer, I've got this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In addition to the current temperature, it shows maximum-minimum temps and has an alarm feature which allows you to set an upper and lower temperature.

It gets hot quickly in there when it's sunny, with the door closed, so the thermometer with alarm is a useful reminder in case I forgot to open the door, to stop the plants being fried. Also having a minimum temperature alarm is useful in case I need to rescue any of the plants on a cold night and bring them indoors.

Set up my chilli grow yesterday. The lucky 3 are jalape�o, newmex twilight, Hungarian hot wax.
They get covered with fleece every night.

Have considered one for a while and having researched no end, they do actually do what they say on the tin and look the "Dog's B@@locks"

This will be the first full season with the chilli grow, so really looking forward to the results. And I have a newmex twilight and several jalape�os that will be growing in normal pots so I can compare.

Hopefully I'm not too late for this year, but I planted some chilli seeds a couple of weeks ago, which are now about an inch high

I tried some cayenne, some jalapeno, and some seeds I took from some Tesco "finger chillis" (whatever they are). Didn't think to label them at the time so I have no idea what's what!

Never grown anything before this, so at the moment I'm just happy that anythings grown at all

Rookie mistake not labelling your seedlings , don't worry about it there's quite a few seasoned growers that still forget to label.
You will find out soon enough which is which, when the chillies start to grow.
This time next year you'll be growing loads of chillies because you will soon become addicted like the rest of us

This is my second year and I thought one of my chillis was cayenne but I have realised I haven't bought any cayenne seeds!!!!!

So we will have to wait and see. If it's HHW jalape�os or frigitello
