        • Seed sowing today. Peas, 4 varieties of carrots, a little experimental 6 cell tray of herbs ( parsley, dill, hyssop, orange scented thyme, coriander & Hungarian blue breadseed poppy). Other half wants to try germinating them in the airing cupboard. My experiment is to see how many days it takes for him to get board of checking for germinate

          • Relocated the trays of Busy Lizzie & Petunia from the greenhouse to the heated prop to hopefully give them a kick start.

                • Yesterday I sowed:

Three types of purple sprouting broccoli (early, mid and late)
Sugar snap peas as they chit in the heated prop - i'm having to do it this way because two 'direct' sowings (i.e. in pots in the poytunnel) have failed to germinate now. Even on damp kitchen roll in the prop most are just going soft and hairy rather than sprouting!
Gave up on last year's parsnip seed as well (none germinating on kitchen roll in the prop) and bought some new from T3sco. We'll see how that does.
Marigolds and sunflowers popped up over the weekend.

I was the same with last years parsnips seeds. I think 1 out of about 200 seeds germinated on wet kitchen roll. Chucked them and started new ones which are now all in the ground in the garden.

Orange scented thyme sounds nice SP. Can I ask where you got the seeds from? And how do you grow it? I've tried ordinary thyme a couple of times and had no success. I suspect I don't take enough care as the seeds are so tiny.
