    I'm currently making sauerkraut and been reading up on recipes for fermented style preserving of turnip tops, radishes and cabbages from both Europe and Asia I am tempted to see if I can grow a glut of radishes and pickle them in some way.... possibly Japanese or Korean style could be interesting

    Time to sow some more tonight I reckon!

      I've just eaten my first 2 radishes
      Rather small, but perfectly formed - and exceedingly tasty.

        Well that didn't take long, soon have some radish to go with the Mesclun I set in late November.

            I'll give it a try-mine have never been successful but some of the ones grown under a cloche this year might just have one or two that are edible next week. Awful problems with flea beetle last year.

            Will get suitable container for challenge if that is the rule( let me know).

            Could also quick tutorial on uploading photos from phone if some good soul will help!
            No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

                I forgot to say that I've eaten my first pot of radish ...............and I haven't sown any more since about Week 6
                Lots more ready to eat now!

                  Lunch today, mature cheddar cob, mesclun and radish, garden to plate less than 2 minutes.

                    Mine have got good tops, but are still thin below. I'll give them another week or so before I lose patience and out them.

                    • This usually happens if you plant to early a bit like toms going leggy, the good news is they usually thicken up toward the bottom of they root. They look a little strange but taste just as good.
