Planted potatoes in tubs today but snow forecasted!? what to do??

Again any advice welcome.

Planted my potatoes in nice big garden tubs today, as i am short of space in my garden, and forecasters are predicting very heavy snow over the next few days. will a covering of snow cause problems if i leave them out or should i store them away in my shed until this horrible white stuff has gone?

Put them in your shed if you can. Since there are no leaves up, it won't matter if they're in the dark.

I was going to plant my spuds next week, but think i will leave it an extra week, its so cold at the moment.

you could cover your pot with plastic, mine are in the ground have been for 3 weeks now as they are suppose to be early potatoes. i am so fed up with this weather. i have carrots in pots with glass covering them.

"Early" potatoes refers to the length of time they need from planting to harvesting, which is shorter than second earlies and maincrops.

It doesn't mean you have to plant them when it's cold and frosty.

The way it's going, we won't be planting them at all. We will all be cooking them instead
