    celery are very prone to heart rot which will turn the centre of a plant into black mush overnight. Basic cause is lack of calcium which can be countered by applying calcium nitrate (the only soluble form of calcium) to the plants. Condition normally manifests itself in warm muggy conditions which means it is worse under cover. i.e. grow outside

      I usually chuck mine on the mini greenhouse thingy. No room in the proper greenhouse!
