I happened to visit our local garden centre last week and they were putting out the seed spuds. I was quite suprised at the cost at 3.99 for 2kg's.
I heard that the price may rise due to the wet year we've had but still very suprised. I would go to spud day at Stonham but they charged 1.50 entrance last year and by the time I drive the 30 miles and I only go for a small amount of new spuds I am weighing the cost.
To go or not to go. I haven't seen the price per spud but last year it was 12p each. Pays if you want alot of em, interesting morning though. I could always get my friend who is a member and helps there to get me a few I suppose.
I even looked in catalogues and they are even more pricey. Then add postage. I do use the Kings seed programme on our site but I have felt they were always pricey. What are we to do. Still if thats the only concern I have this year then it will be a good one. Good luck to all readers/GYO's for the coming season and lets hope it's a good, drier and warmer year.
