Wow, now that is impressive!
We used to have someone here on the Vine who grows giant veg http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...vegmandan.html
If you take a look at one of his posts, you will see a link to his blog which is very interesting.A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)

There was something on the TV about this over the weekend - think there was some giant veg competition or soemthing. Me and OH looked it at, said blimey and then pretty much together asked what was the point and would they taste nice? Would rather have lots of manageable sized veggies instead
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I think I was more meaning that it's a lot of effort to grow something that size and so I'd need a trade off benefit to make it worth my time - does give you a good opportunity for a double ententre thoughOriginally posted by Farmer_Gyles View Postthere doesn't need to be a point to *everything* in life you know!

It seems odd to me too. I entered my veg in the village show last year and OMG when I got down there did I think some folk just have too much time on their hands. I grow for eating without GM interference or pesticide trash. Also the relaxation/fitness aspect. I just couldn't be bothered with everything just so and/or super sized. Some folks are just obsessed with sizeOriginally posted by zazen999 View PostKnow that feeling...
