Tomatoes - as they become ripe!

The very first ripe tom I had this year was one of "Moscovian ultra-early" from outside, but I didn't take a picture of that one.
The ones ripening now are Blue OSU, Cyril's Choice, Orange Favourite, Pendulina and Black Cherry (clockwise). Blue OSU and OF grow outside, while CC, Pendulina and BC are in pots in the greenhouse.
Cyril's was very nice. But I've also had maybe four from a variety from Serbia, they were the tastiest I've had in a long time!

My King George have suddenly remember what they are supposed to do, like bullets middle of last week and then loads of them almost ready to pick when I went to the plot today . Never grown them before (new for me from HSL this year) so don't know what they taste like but the plants are bizarre, not sure if it's normal for them (what with the strange weather sending all sorts of plants a bit loopy) but I'm trying to grow a cordons, they form normal trusses then instead of the truss just ending it seems to turn into a side shoot, so a U turn and head off upwards again. Have cut quite a lot of them off though as the plant would just become too congested if I didn't.

Amish Paste often do that Alison, start forming another shoot at the end of a truss I mean. It does make them a bit messy!

My first one ripe was a 'Purple Plum', which are smallish plums and more of a browny-red than purple. That was a few days ago. Today there was a couple of under-sized Amazon Chocolates, another Purple Plum, and an under-sized Sabre Ukrainian. Hopefully there'll be a few normal sized ones soon...

A blue OSU or Indigo rose (as I believe its been renamed) .........off an armpit stuck in the ground at the lottie. Could teach its parent a thing or two .........

Totem in full production now...great crop from them and all stuck outside in the rain too...
Supersweet 100s coming on tap now..only two so far, but very nice..
Some Florryno and Orangino starting to ripen too....

Lots of green fruit on our four Lucciola plants, in pots in blowaway. Great to see first few turning red today.

my black cherry started ripening 4 weeks ago in the greenhouse first time for me these, bit too sharp in taste though blimin loverly on cheese on toast they turn super sweet then

had few gardeners delight ripen

and a couple of yellow beef types cant rem name at mo

For the third year running all outdoors tomatoes have succumbed to blight before even one tomato has ripened. Going to stick to the greenhouse next year. In the greenhouse I have Gardener's Delight- one I always grow, Tigerella- new to me this year and very tasty and one I'll grow again. Which leads me on to the final one - Vanessa. Good size fruits, cropping well and looks nice. But.... it doesn't taste good and is very fleshy to the point of being a horrible texture in the mouth. It's not just me no-one in the family likes it. I think it might be ok for cooking but that wasn't my intention. Don't think it's my growing routine as the others are good. Anyone else grow Vanessa?

At last one of my black cherries is turning.............................black.

Great crop off the Sungold as always, Tumbler still hanging back had a few fruits but not the usual bumper crop.

I came back after being away the weekend to a few nice ripe tomatoes that I know I won't be using for a few days so after being told about Passata, I decided to make some last night. I included a home grown chilli & home grown lemon basil too...



I think we will have that tonight with chicken, pasta & garlic bread.

At last my Ethiopean Black are turning. If they taste as good as they look I shall be well pleased as this is a new vareity to me.
