Seriously though, I don't even know where my router is, let alone what sorts of bits I have. And never having seen one used, or been given tuition, I am hamstrung before you even think of the consequences of using one indoors in my Granny Pad. (I don't dust. It's a religious thing.)
Veggie, I am pretty good given the tools I have. I'll have you know I have friends who call on me whenever they want joinery work done. I'm very good with my hands - it's just that I'm no good with tools.
Alas, you are talking to the most forgetful person you will ever meet outside of a dementia ward. I mean that quite seriously, the various types of memory loss I suffer severely compromise my ability to work in gainful employment.
So, were I to decide to water my beautifully rooted seedlings from below, and pick up the tray to move them to a more appropriate spot...I think I'd spend a lot of time getting the bit I'd picked up to fit back between the (disintegrated) plugs of soil. Not to mention, the inevitable accidental knock. (Did I mention I'm clumsy ?)
So your suggestions are baseless ! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Tell you what though, once I've got my greenhouse made, I'm going to be thinking seriously about getting some small drawers via the landfill site I volunteer at, and using them...

I never pass up the chance of some old drawers! A bit of perspex over the top - Eh Voila - instant cold frame. Don't know how I'd manage without my drawers!!

Have you thought of polystyrene fish boxes. This are single use items and go from the fishmonger to landfill. To give them a second life I use them for all sorts of things from seedlings to trays of lettuce and spring onion.

... my last post was censored ! (Must've been my comment about grabbing...well, about buying wooden, lidded storage boxes.)

I like the idea of reusing the polystyrene boxes Colin, I even know where I can get them; but I find that polystyrene has a nasty habit of ending up in little bits all over the allotment as time goes by...and I absolutely loathe that. The other problem is that it immediately means I don't have the modular system anymore, and rather than having something I can make myself I am relying on an external source, which might dry up.

Needless to say, I never aim to be corny, I just have difficulty with rye humour, I know it oat to be simple but for me as winnow already, it isn't...do you have to have that spelt out for you ?
