We had the same symptoms, but no rain. I have to say, whilst we do need it, I hate to wish for it, just in case it won't stop once it starts!

Don't panic VVG, update here, it has now been "raining" for 3/4 of an hour. I say rain tentatively, they are like tiny wasp breath droplets ! certainly wouldn't bother any petals, more of a damp tickle than a down pour. Lets just say I've been out to get the washing in and it's almost dry.

Perhaps if it just carries on doing that for the next 36 hours we might be ok

A heavy and angry black cloud,
Oozing hailstones like eggs,
That stings my bare legs,
And makes me cry out quite loud.

Lots of bright flashes,
And loud hollow crashes,
Add to the tension of the storm,
It�s too hot for sleeping,
My skin it is weeping,
I just can�t wait for the morn.

After many long hours,
The storm loses it powers,
And the rain eases back �til it�s done.
Now a new day is dawning,
So I�ll give you this warning,
Its time to get out and have fun.

Got all excited this morning while in Lauceston as it was raining nice and steadily. However my dreams of rapidly filling waterbutts and softening ground quickly dimmed as I drove the 12 miles home. Roads were barely damp and the sun was preparing to make an entrance.
I can't believe I want this lovely weather to end but lugging seven canisters of water up to the lottie and deciding who is suffering the most is a right royal pain!
The weather forecast promises rain for tomorrow and the weekend. If it doesn't happen, I'm considering suing!
