Tomato - Outdoor girl variety

Hi all, does anyone know what type of plant this is, is it a one that will grow up a cane or will it be more bushy.

I have been looking on the internet and have found some websites, some one, and them some that say the other.

Am I correct in saying that it won't need any trimming etc, just leave it to grow and it will be fine (apart from the little sideshoots).

as far as i can work out the outdoor ones are all bush types.

I would agree with Lynda that most outdoor ones tend to be bush varieties. If it is a bush variety then leave the little side shoots on.

My dad used to grow Outdoor Girl and Sigmabush. I had a feeling OG was a cordon - just checked on Davesgarden.com plant files - huge number of tomato cultivars there - and they say it's cordon (indeterminate).

Rrrright. And here in lies my problem. 3 replies and 2 different answers. Should I just leave it to do its own thing? Can't do it any harm can it?

I've even seen a description on the net as "bush, indeterminate" !!!!!


I think I'd trust the RHS and grow as a cordon....

Cheers for that. Have done plenty research on growing it as a cordon. Will be sure to post again for more help if I need anymore
