CFBs & broadies put in compost.

Not all the broadies had chitted but I figure the casings will have benefited from softening. 99% of the earlier batch germinated so I know the seed are good.

100% germination on the CFBs - think it's not quite consistently warm enough for them in the blow away so they're in the luxury of the bathroom counter for the time being

Finally remembered to sow the curcubits: cucumbers Marketmore and Hocus, 3 courgettes, a marrow, 2 butternuts, 2 patty pans, and a mystery squash

Sowed the rest of my tomatoes, limoncito, sweet aperitif, honeycomb, sweet success, black cherry, merrygold and tumbling tom red.
Sowed all my cucumbers, another quick snack to replace the one that I killed and two each of delistar and nimrod.

Sowed overnight soaked Lucullus chard which is supposed to be more tender than standard chard. Has anyone grown this variety? I normally grow chard as a winter cover crop and chop and drop come spring but as its relatively easy thought I’d try one specifically for eating as a sort of spinachy green.

Tonight I've sown rainbow and peppermint chard, white Lisbon and purplette spring onions. Golden eye, cylindra, Dertoit 6 rubidus, chioggia and albina vereduna beetroots. Tom thumb, red iceberg, lollo rossa, riccia rosso da taglio lettuces and spearmint, herb fennel, chives, garlic chives and coriander.

Yesterday I sowed courgettes Orelia & gold rush,also Squash seeds Turks turban & butternut hunter,feeling anxious,all these plants failed in the heatwave & drought last year,small shrivelled leaves,tiniest you’ve ever seen courgette,I’m thinking of planting in the shade/north facing border for just partial early rising sun or some shade nets like with the cucumber🤔😎
Edit - Im not using the rocket grow for seed sowing,really bad results from it….

Just sowed seven pots of sugar bon peas,three peas per pot,in the kitchen window. I’m using a new MPC ‘rocket grow’ peat free,I wonder if it’s good🧐😎

My batch wasn’t good,two peas germinated out of twenty one. Four cosmos germinated out of forty,never seen such bad germination,it’s very alarming,especially for new growers who wouldn’t know. I used the rocket grow in my potatoes & im going to add some nettle leaves chopped up to add nitrogen,the rocket grow isn’t composted enough & it’s having an affect of growth between two of my tomato plants that I potted up at the same time. The plant potted into jacks magic is bigger,I’ll find the plants & add photos,the rocket grow compost is the one that looks like pure wood but I have labelled the pots -
