Just got the first blowaway out the shed & put seven plug plants in there I potted up yesterday, geranium, nemesia, verbena…I went to the GC the other day & got 18 little plug plants,it was 6 plants for £9.99,it’s expensive compared to seed sowing but I’m not sure my petunias will germinate so I needed a couple of petunias for the wall baskets but then I liked nearly all of the plants

Carried on with my hedge pruning. This time it was a shrubby conifer, a berberis and a bit more pyracantha. Just one more pyracantha to go!
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Yesterday I cleared a large area of weeds from the gravel by the back door.
I want to hang our sink there too soon but I need paving slabs sloping away from the wall first, so this is the first step in implementing this. It was a last year project which didn’t get done, so I’m determined the sooner the better!

Over the last few days I've put up our new blow-away. I was a little annoyed that it has a tear in the cover but it's been in the box for too long to complain & ask for a replacement. Never mind - it can be fixed with some tape.

I've also potted up some chitted seed, put other seeds to start chitting & sowed some seeds into compost.

I fixed my blowaway door with tape too yesterday, last years tape was peeling, also potted on five more of the plug plants, six left to do. Went to m & s with mum today, didn’t have time for gardening except I did pinch some old growth off the nemesia to tidy it up. All my broccolis ready for cutting, will do soon

Finished pruning the pyracantha and berberis, that's the main run of hedging done now. Hoorah for that

I have finished pruning and cutting back every single bit of hedging. Today was a hawthorn, 2 yews, dogwood, 2 laurel, an elderflower tree and I attacked the ivy that is trying to take over a wild cherry tree and is a nesting favourite of the pigeons, hopefully it will start dying back now and the pigeons will go elsewhere

I love my mini chainsaw I am quite sad that I won't be needing it again for a while

                          Pruned willow .
I still have more roses , jasmine, ivy, dogwood, honeysuckle.
                          I'm ignoring the rest

Pruning in mum 's garden of an elder I think that has plonked itself, twisted Hazel that's taking liberties, laurel.
                            Pulled out some Holly seedlings.
                            Cut back some things .
                            Cut grass edges.
Put bulbs that were planted in small pots in.

                            Then did housework there.

Proud of us for plotting at all today as the sun we were promised didn't arrive & it's been foggy here again all day.

Finally cut back the Autumn Raspberry. Adjusted the net on the Spring Cabbage although they look a bit scrappy. The Welsh Onions seem to have overwintered too
Came to an agreement about where we should put our mini wildlife pond Laid some membrane on the grassy bit at the top of the plot.
