I miss scraping the potatoes, I remember the brown stain on my index finger. I also remember having a "rumbler" that I had to wind, but it did the job

I've only ever had lettuce soup twice. I loved it. Never made it though.

Cauli, courgette and chickpea curry tonight. We're both quite full from lunch, so maybe the uneaten kiwis will do for pud.

Te he…we’ve made it quite often in the past when we’ve had a glut. Never known a diuretic quite like it though

            • Try again for the curry tonight. I ran out of time and we ended up with pasta instead yesterday. Shop-bought stuffed pasta has improved dramatically. This was a pear and gorgonzola filling and it was really nice. (Either that, or I was really hungry. )

              • Tumble salad for us…either tinned salmon or tinned tuna as the guest ingredient.
…..it was going to be prawns, but we’ve both got the munchies and having those on a salad butty for lunch!
I treated us to a box of ‘Giganta’ strawberries …oh my…absolutely delicious! I wonder if you can easily buy the plants? ( I’m sure our resident hare would prefer them too)

                • I'm having a go at courgette curry today. I am using this recipe.

I decided to make a half recipe for a first attempt. Halving and doubling recipes has been my downfall many times in the past, and I have a horrible feeling that it will be again today! I think that halved everything except the chilli powder.🥵🥵 Also the courgette doesn't seem to be breaking up as quickly as it should.

We will see what it is like later. If it is too hot I have got yoghurt in tbe fridge which will probably cool it a bit and I can cook it a little longer.

                    • Cod, a baked potato and a mixed salad.

                        • Re last night's curry.

After about an extra 20 minutes the courgette softened and broke down. Amazingly, when I tried it I found it was quite bland and definitely lacking something, although it did look like the pictures. I added a big splodge of tomato puree and a large teaspoonful of garam masala and it improved enough to be edible.

I shall not be making it again. In future I'll stick to ratatouille as my favourite courgette dish.

                          Tonight, no idea yet.
