I’ve been bringing them in overnight since that episode.
We’ve another 8 weeks before our last frost date. Maybe I was silly starting them off too soon?
Some are destined for large tubs and others directly into the ground.

I’ve checked online and seaweed fertiliser is twice the price of that in the uk

Homemade nettle fertiliser is very good too. If you do plant some out, they can be covered at night with a tunnel cloche or fleece, the peas sound healthy as they are,you will know best

Yesterday I planted out the first potatoes, one bag of Maris bard (a new one to try) one bag of Nicola, one bag of charlottes & one tub of Desiree, nearly did two tubs of Desiree but there was an ants nest & they were carrying eggs around so I just wet it all.

If you've got any seed left Nicos I'd be tempted to sow a few more - at the least you'll have replacements or best case your first lot will perk up & you get an extended harvest. I'll be sowing my Mangetout and Alderman peas this week (along with a long list of other stuff I've got to get to sowing). I'll soak them overnight in room temp water to soften the casings - I hope that will gain me a few days/a week by helping them to sprout faster than an unsoaked sowing.

Today I've transferred Parsnip seed that have been chitting since 23/03 to loo rolls. Procrastination led cauli seed put to chit on the same date to sprout & grow very leggy seedlings in the takeaway tub so those will need re-sowing (I only chucked them in to chit as I couldn't motivate myself to sow properly - I wouldn't usually chit that type of seed). I'm not confident my broadies weren't over-chitted as they're not showing so there's going to have to be another sowing of those too I think Cucs are looking tidy though, the true leaves are finally showing on my chillies & the onions are looking really good

Finally sowed my tomatoes and cucumbers on 1st April.

Tomatoes are - sweet aperitif, sweet baby, sweet million, honeycomb, sugargloss, sungold and green zebra. I grow these every year and wanted to use up all my open seed packets. The green zebra are pretty old so I have my fingers crossed for germination.

Cucumbers are - diva, mini munch, delistar and nimrod, gutted I only had one nimrod seed left! They are a really good cucumber. Delistar is my favourite though.

Put some Cucumber (Marketmore) seed to chit @ OH's request he wants to give them another try & seems dissatisfied with the smaller fruit expected from Mini Munch as it's 2025 you shall have to imagine your own comment lol.
