Cats in tattie rows

Has anyone a sure fire way of stopping cats useing my tattie rows as a toilet ?
I have a 4 foot high chicken wire fence round the garden but that don't stop them tryed orange peel up the rows as well.
any help please

I squirt ours with water whenever I see him on the beds. He seems to be learning slowly.

In desperation we got a couple of those ultrasonic scarers.

An expensive way to solve the problem, but they worked a treat.

Apparently ground pepper around the area works well, but haven't tried it

I know what you mean Goldwolf. I'm growing everything under nets - keeps off the cats, blackbirds, pigeons et al. But I've got my potatoes in buckets.

i use moth balls, they smell but works a treat, as i have 2 cats and they keep well away

Chilli powder on the soil surface has some effect. Also makes the place smell like a curry house which you may or may not think is a good thing

Hi i'm new to this site and i think it's fab! I have had problems with cats and since putting down slightly crushed garlic cloves they have'nt been in at all, hope this helps

you need to remove all traces of you know what or they will just want to keep leaving their messages in the same place, then mothballs or garlic both work but garlic needs replacing when it rains.

I was told vinegar works well, so I sprinkled some over where a cat was 'going' and as of yet, no more scooping! However, I don't about what effects the acetic acid might have on the soil or nearby plants.
