Sorry, another potato question

I've been earthing since they first came through - not sure if I've been doing it right, but alls I've done is every day cover the growth with a mound of earth, and next day, they're coming through that, so I've done it again, and again and so on, I've now got little mounds about 6 inches high and when I've just looked this morning, there must be 3 inches of growth since yesterday. How long do I need to keep earthing them up for? At this rate I'll have a pile to rivel Mount Everest in me back garden

Let e'm grow do not earth up again for a day or to if there is a frost warning drop some lawn mowings on them to protect them they will do fine with out constant earthing up jacob

If they are directly in garden soil, about 10" (25cm). After that, the stems will grow about another two feet (60cm). Then they flower and about 2 weeks later, as the stems start to die back, they should be ready to pull up.

No need to earth up every day. Once a week is fine. As soon as the last frost has happened you can leave them to grow. Earthing up is (1) to protect the new shoots from frost and (2) to stop the new potatoes from going green by growing on the surface of the soil and being exposed to light. It also helps to control weeds by constant cultivation.
