How many Courgettes, squashes and cucumbers have you picked in 2019

2 yellow courgettes!

First for several years! *happy dance*.

Got three plants, one is fruiting nicely, and one is looking a bit sickly. Then there are two butternut squash plants that might be might be thinking about flowering...

We're up to several, several dozen but we have 28 plants in the ploytunnel. About 12 fruit rond and 16 diamant. Picked our first patty pan squash that was pretty big but have dozens more smaller ones not ready yet. Butternuts growing fast also in the polytunnel.

We have lost I'd say about half of our potential courgettes due to what I think is poor pollination. The grow and then the end goes yellow and then eventually they drop off. We have both end windows of the polytunnel always open now but I think next year we will also hang some lavender or other flower to attract the bees in more.

Erm..........the courgette was munched by slugs but my bush squash might give me golf balls in a few weeks.

1 tromboncino . This one was actually pollinated, and starting to grow nicely. Unfortunately it started squashing one of my mystery chilli plants. So it had to go! It’ll be lovely with tonight’s tea.

We're going away on Friday so I've had to pick the sudden rush of cucumbers that are just about ready and will be sharing them with our friends tomorrow. 5 good size and 2 slightly smaller ones.
