What can I grow in a GH in summer...............

What can I grow in a GH in summer - that's not tomatoes, peppers or aubergines and is grown in pots.
I'm considering cutting back on the number of tomato plants I grow and using only one GH for them. That leaves a couple of GHs free for other things. I don't grow peppers or aubergines; I will grow a couple of cucumbers and might try melons but what else can you suggest that can be grown in pots. Its probably too hot for lettuce and other salad leaves.

Tried some outside last year but they only grew 6". Maybe inside they'd be better.

I have some of those - usually keep them in the GH over winter as that's when they fruit.

Tea (although maybe more a store it in the poly in winter plant)
Coffee (mine is currently a happy house plant)

Thanks for the suggestions. I want to grow something that stands a chance of being edible and it will need to be out of the GH for winter as I fill it with salads and peas then.

I am growing Butternut Squash in mine this year along with hanging baskets(could be pots) of sweet peas, petit pois and climbing French beans.

Somewhat left-field suggestion but hopefully not entirely idiotic. How about planting a grapevine outside the GH and then training it inside ? I know its not in a pot, but on the other-hand the roots are not using up any border growing space. You only get shade from the leaves from around this time of year until the end of September 'ish, so that means you have most of the Autumn, Winter and Spring for growing your normal crops and even in the shaded bit of the Summer you can still grow cucumbers in the vacant space if you want to.

I can guarantee anyone who tries this that, as long as you keep the vine alive you will have fruit in 4 years maximum, possibly sooner. I've got 4 vines trained like this at the moment and they can give a significant amount of fruit for very little work - plus if you don't like grapes you can always make wine :-)

Sweetcorn? You might get a bumper crop in the greenhouse as long as they pollinate well?

I'd be thinking grapes and something like yard long beans, too. I think they can be grown in pots, yes.

I've done the grape thing - outside and led inside and it didn't work for me as I'm too short to keep up with the pruning and thinning. It was a hassle so I didn't do it - then the GH was too shady and all I got were currant sized grapes. I still have the hole in the glass where the vine came in! (sounds like a song!
The winning suggestions so far are melons, cucumber/squash/courgettes of some sort, beans, maybe dwarf as I lose those in the garden.
Please keep your ideas coming as I give each one some thought, really I do.

Courgettes do very well in a green house. As your in sunny South Wales it might be to hot. But as it's in a pot you could away put it outside. In a grow bag on its end? It's like a pot .
Obviously Carrots. You know you love your carrots growing in pots . They do really well inside.

Its the "too hot" bit that concerns me.I don't want to make work for myself with moving pots or putting up shading but, I don't want to keep filling GHs with tomatoes as I end up with more toms than I can eat/give away/freeze. There are still bags of the things in the freezer and I don't enjoy them frozen.
I never thought I'd say I have too many GHs.
