That's a very nicely stocked greenhouse, Mr Bones. I didn't think of putting up some shelves at the end section as well. Great idea.

I agree with Marie, looking good Mr B.sigpicGorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,

Some photos from around the house and garden for May:
Growhouse:
Strawberries and half hardy flower seedlings (fuchsias, nasturtiums, cosmos and gaillardia).
Carrot cage:
Net is now in place and it is filling up with buckets of carrots and parsnips. The one with the fleece over hasn't germinated yet.
Downstairs grow light garden:
Next lot of peas just starting to germinate, various lettuce seedlings and a lone tomato sideshoot.
Upstairs grow light garden:
Tomato, cucumber and pepper seedlings plus a couple of lettuces that have been cut and are regrowing.
Upstairs grow lights:
Bigger peppers (these are snackbite red, orange and yellow)and the oldest of the cucumber plants nearly ready to go to the greenhouse.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

A few more:
Landing windowsill:
Left to right - one of last year's pepper plants trying to regrow, a half eaten lettuce, this year's biggest pepper seedling (snackbite yellow) and a pot of dwarf french beans one of which (purple teepee) is trying to climb the window frame! The other plant is Sonesta which has yellow beans.
Spare bedroom windowsill:
Rather a dark photo as it is looking at bright light. 4 balconi tomato plants (2 red, 2 yellow) have green fruit on them, plus a rather better behaved although not as advanced pot of beans.
Sitting room windowsill:
7 Shirley tomato plants are all now touching the ceiling. The 2 oldest ones, 2nd and 3rd left, are laden with quite large fruit. I've tied them to the window handle in the hope of stopping them falling over.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

These are April's photos that I forgot to post
GH No 1 with tomatoes in their final positions since yesterday
GH No 2. Tomatoes on shelf on left. Salad leaves and buckets to be cleared soon for more tomatoes!
GH No 3 - the potting up GH with tomatoes waiting for a GH space.
GH No 4 - more toms and germinating seeds. Note the ironing board on the right
GH No 5 - the seedling GH. Mostly flowers, some perennial leeks. Will probably be used for cukes this year.

Love the ironing board staging, VC. A much better use for an ironing board, I must say
Fab looking tomatoes.LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Free greenhouses are definitely the best greenhouses!, once the kids are a bit older I could definitely have a couple at home at least, corner house with pretty reasonable gardens, thne maybe a couple at the plot? plus the conservatory... in 30 years I way well be level pegging haha.. does this mean I can be a nutter too? or does that depend on the success of my carrot in a bottle?Originally posted by veggiechicken View PostDamian,
I bought GH No 2 30+ years ago and the seedling GH was a cheapie frame from an end of season DIY place sale. The other 3 were freebies
You have your first GH - who knows how many you'll have in 30 years
