Thank you DannyK. As my heater is 1500w will go for the 2.2kw version you said. And can add an old fan have in summer on the cooling side. They get good reviews. One question, is the 24hr option worth having vs the cooling option ?, personally feel cooling more useful

I'd go for cooling option for green house.

The Amazon ones are better than eBay as they've got sensor on a lead so you can also use them on heated propagators that don't have digital stats. Sensor can also be kept out of sun>

I have used the 308, heat & cooling, in the greenhouse with a cheap fan heater. Worked great when the heater was set to 1000w option. Would occasionally trip if set to 2000w.
The unit can be set to have different temperatures for when heating and cooling starts. I.e. heating comes on when temperatures drops below 16C and cooling starts when above 25C.

Dead dogs, had it running for few days now, works great ie maintains close to 1c setting with only small amount of electric used, different world to using the thermostat on the heater which seemed to have large range.
One question I have is do you cover it or put it in a waterproof enclosure long term, was thinking of using a tupperware box or similar mounted on a woodern back plate, that am also mounting the waterproof socket enclousure onto ?

Hi, when I used the Inkbird 308 at my last place I was using the Autopot system. This system has the plant pot standing in a base unit, which has a valve that regulates water from a separate tank. Therefore the was no risk of splashing water over the plugs.
Found my 308 last week, miss placed after last years move, and set it up in time for the snow. Currently hanging under the greenhouse shelf and should be ok without needing a box.

All I have to do now is take the laptop with me, plug it in and hey presto I have a graph of the temperature. I’ve set to record the temp every 5 mins. That’s about 3.5 months worth of data. Not that I intend to wait that long before going to the greenhouse.

Thank you for reply Dead Dogs, think I may put it in a tupperware type box with air vents as can see watering mistakes happening here, you sound rather more professional. Will have a look at the data logger thx
