  • Saving Tom Plants

    Hi All
I've had a small tom crop and some of the plants are now bare. Is it worth saving the plants till next year and how do I do it, or should I just start with fresh seeds next year?

Personally I would start fresh next year, but there is a thread on here somewhere about saving plants. I'll try and find it for you. Found it!! http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ead_52244.html

      Hi

I usually start with fresh ones every year.

Most people do. I wouldn't bother saving the whole plant but some of us are experimenting with taking a cutting and trying to keep a small plant over the winter.

Hi Jim, tomatoes are not frost hardy, so unless you have a heated greenhouse, you would be better off starting fresh from seed next year.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
