Got my son to order 60 melon pear seeds from Amazon for me. [do not trust self to get it right]. Received them yesterday from China but only 7 in packet.

Disappointing …fingers crossed they are the correct seeds. Do you have any comeback?

Not good. Ask Amazon for a refund on the grounds that parts are missing? I've done this before and they tend to say yes.

Got another order for melon pear seeds sent off. 60 in the packet so sowed 20 and have 20 melon pear plants. Finding that the cheap seeds have done better this season compared with some of the named suppliers. Sowed far to many expecting most to die and now have to take a load of trays out the g.h. to get in,

I bought a packet from eBay last month. A proper retail packet, but of some Eastern European seed company.
It had 10 seeds, and three germinated, although one subsequently died, so I now have two seedlings.
They grow ever so slowly, though. I suspect they'll be similar to cape gooseberries and tomatillos in that regard, and grow at a snail's pace while small, but then once they get to a certain size with really storm away.

The seeds i got from Plant World were very good. They grew very quick and produced loads of fruits with bright blue flowers. Tried keeping some plants over winter. Managed a few from cuttings taken June /July time.
