The pink cosmos are all up, that's got to be a record for me, 3 days! The salvia is up too. No sign of either of the white cosmos yet.

                Sowed alyssum.

Good to hear the nasturtium chitting worked out. I tried it for the first time last year after losing half a packet to rot in cold soil and it made a real difference. Calendula self seeding reliably is the goal, saves so much faffing about in spring.

I have sown more flower seed this year than before. Dahlia, snaps, strawflowers, cosmos and latest are zinnias which are new to me. The zinnia started showing after only a few days in the greenhouse. Some are for our local plant sale and the stragglers are to brighten things up in the garden and pop into spaces on the allotment. Here in sunny somerset nasturtiums and calendulas seed on the plot reliably so no need sow.

Tonight I've sown tagetes lemon gem and nasturtiums purple emperor, troika spotty dotty and cherry rose.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Potted on cosmos because it was sown too densely.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
