  • Succulents detaching

Why do I have so many succulent failures ? Seemingly easy plants to grow but just touching the plants they are lose on top of the soul, roots no longer anchored. Kept in well drained soil with grit and they they no longer are growing. I have just given them a bit of a water in the hope of reviving.

No I haven't. I thought they were only active early spring.

I guess that’s good news as far as your garden is concerned….but no nearer to working out what has caused this problem Marb.

Take some cuttings with roots if you can get that and plant in moist compost with a good addition of grit or perlite, I use course (concrete) sand, give each cutting plenty of room ensure that they are kept reasonably warm, room temperature is ideal, take care not to over water and only water from the base

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
