Snoop Puss this might be one for you although not sure whereabouts you are in Spain.

Just back from Gran Canaria and outside our hotel was what can only be described as a wall of colour. Not that it's likely to be able to grow in the UK but I just wondered what it was. Any ideas?

Looks like a bougainvillea. I've seen loads on walls in the Canaries
    Northern England.

Thanks for thinking of me, Vince. They're beautiful plants, yes. It's too cold for them in winter where I am, but they are lovely.

I have some in my front garden. But it's in the Philippines. Beware the thorns.

I have some here but they are in pots and not doing very well.

There is a specialist seller often at Hampton Court who has some really interesting ones.

. Just found this clip from 2022 Hampton Court. As well as different colours I think there were some variegated ones too.

DannyK, we had bougainvillea in pots when we lived in Barcelona. They seemed to do OK. Needed a heck of a lot of water, though.

Yep agreed. Was definitely Bougainvillea - the RHS tells me it's not frost hardy so very little chance of it thriving, even in tropical Suffolk!

              Thanks all
