Well they don't like cooked carrots! All rice and sultanas gone though and they've taken themselves in for the first time, which is great. For once Elose is sleeping huddled up with them instead of commandeering the nestbox area. Tomorrow is escape the run day! I intend spending the morning raking up!

Congrats on your new ladies, VVG! Such beauties they are! And I bet they'll enjoy their first day out. Just one more sleep
How funny about the carrots, mine would have gobbled them up in no time!
...bonkers about beans... and now a proud Nutter!

We had them out today NellieM and they loved it although still slightly skitty, when one flapped the long jump, the rest followed. They are still looking around at the noises of the woods. They've had mealworms and corn today, plus porridge and Flubenvet laced sultanas. I started the seven day worming programme today. Have spent 2-3 hours cleaning the coop so I can poo inspect over the next few days. It's like having babies again. But they really don't like carrots, despite being cooked. They were thrown everywhere

Had the girls free ranging with me today and they are going further and further now. I went raking and they were doing the hot shoe shuffle along the woodland edge, which made me nervey, so I then did a bit of compost turning. This activity soon brought them over. It's safe to say that they like the piles
Six had turned the lawn where their house is into a mud bath. It's been moved sideways to give more grass. Less flapping now and more yoga poses/tail wagging, which I'm taking as a good sign. Worming is half way through and I picked up a big bucket of DE yesterday.
Wish I'd been brave enough to get them earlier. I feel bad we left her on her own for so long now. She loves joining in again

We are thanks Feral. It's a dry but blowy day so am spending it in the garden. I'm digging over some useable growing ground but with six all vying for worms, I'm actually not getting much done
