Strangely, I feel quite calm and relaxed today thankyou... the hens seem fine, even the 2 I was worried about - in fact, although it sounds mean to say it, they actually seem more relaxed and calm without Blue around. The 4 younger girls are all getting along much better than usual, and they've all been out in the garden quite a bit today instead of hanging around in the porch all day. Mind you, it's been a fantastic day here, we've been so lucky - sunny and warm, we even had lunch outside!

We've also moved all the chickens into their new home this afternoon - we just got it all finished half an hour after they'd usually have their supper, so they were a bit grumbly and confused about where their house had gone. I was also a bit worried about too much change at once for them, but now they're in, they seem to love it . There's straw in one half, which is a novelty for them, and we've left the other half as it is for now in case there's more rain and water bubbles up again. I've put some wooden boxes in one corner for them to play on and for me to sit on, and half a bale of straw to climb on in another corner. I'll build some roosting bars and some nest boxes eventually too, but they'll have to wait a while - we're having Xmas off! The 3 older birds are already scratching around and making themselves at home. I'll try to upload a photo so you can see . So even if it's raining now they'll be nice and dry! They struggled all to fit under the coop outside. And I can shut them out of the porch at last! No more chicken poo greeting visitors! Lol . I'm sure that's what's motivated Tony to get on with the job .

You're both very welcome! But you may want to wait until the spring 'cos visitors doss in the barn - the one that's just flooded! And there's no heating. And no insulation . And VVG - if Sage can't come and show us her frilly knickers, I assume you'll be her substitute... heh
