Anyone else noticed a sudden drop in egg production?
We are only getting 3-4 eggs a day instead of the typical 7

You are lucky with the temperament of your. Broody VC - mine is particularly evil.

Fab piccies - first time I've seen Muscovies at the 'cute' stage, for a long time.

My egg-count has dropped from 16/18 a day to 10/12, much to the annoyance of neighbours and passing traffic who pounce like vultures as soon as I put a box out the front for sale!

I don't think anyone should be voting for Bluebell as she's in disgrace. She's getting all stroppy again (she was a right thug when we first got her) and has nipped Bessie's crest and made it bleed

Chickens can be viscous things MrsC, if she gets particularly nasty sometimes it does them good to pull the nasty one from the flock and run them side by side for a while. It alters the pecking order. Keep us updated.

DD spotted earlier that Snowy's crest was bleeding too. Bessie seems fine this morning and I haven't seen Bluebell go for her again, but that's Goldie, Bessie and Snowy that she's had it in for in the last two days. If she carries on like this we're going to have to do something, but it will involve creating an entire separate hen set-up, and I'm not quite sure how we'd do that.
