this is the one my hubby has just made me

Its like a mini palace for them. 3 nest boxes and two sets of perches. Will house my 7 eventually, so will be nice and cost for them

That's great tick. Now you just need another one for some hens.

I bought a 6 x 8 overlap shed from Focus yesterday, with 10% over 60 discount (thanks dad) it cost £161. The plan is to have the water and feed in the shed so that the hens can shelter and I don't have to panic about them being let out if we fancy a lie in. The shed has a 10 year guarantee so should do the job for a good while. They also have a 6 x 4 shed for £109

how many hens have you got in there Shirley?
And would I need extra ventilation?
And have you built your nestboxes inside?

when it rains I get in and lock the chucks out

Actually I wouldnt dare do that, I would get so much grief from there!

My Oh, made small small holes to allow the air flow, although the coop opposite has one of those plastic vents on the side

You say that as if it occasionally rains Tick I'm sick of the flippin' rain. We're gonna get trench foot if it doesn't stop soon

Perhaps "when" was the absolute wrong word. I dont know about you guys, but we have had nearly 3 weeks of rain, we live near the coast and the moors, so we get the tail end of the hurricanes from America and the worst the moor can throw at us...

and when it get really bad, they collide and sit right over the top of us and I have never seen horizontal rain like it - the chucks dont need roofs cause the rain doesnt come that way LOL

For once my procrastination has been useful.
Failure to cut back some thryssiflora and Jasmine and other plants means there is quite a bit of shelter for the chooks when they are free ranging.

Snakeshack when you launch your ark could you please sail up the M25 and swing by the A10 to pick me up with my 3 banties, tortoishell cat and 2 JRxSpringer dogs (Bruno doesn't mind a bit of swimming if space is tight).

I really want one of those sheds - but can't get it home! It won't fit in the car even with all the seats out.
