Hmmm...well it's 2 weeks since all 4 girls have been laying since the last batch of chicks hatched- and Betty has been laying in the herbaceous border outside the fencing ( she seems to stay inside once she's laid...well so far anyway!)
..and so - I went to collect the other 3 eggs this afternoon only to find Alice all puffed up sitting on the wooden egg and 2 other fresh ones
NOoooooo...I'm not ready for this!!!!!!!!!2 out of 4 wanting to sit on their eggs!
maybe it's not such a fantastic idea to plan to have all your chooks as good for brooding after all????- at this rate I'll have loads of babies- and no eggs!
..would spraying them with a hosepipe cool them down a bit?????

.... leave the girls to get on with it and go get some different hens that arent so broody lol .... then you get eggs and babies ... a win wi situation
... mind you i might change my mind once they actually start laying eggs ...... i have a plan though ...... runner ducks ...... don't go broody and you get great eggs
....yup - I think you may be right there!!
