I have the same problem, (well the hens do) they have not started laying yet. They are all wellsummers (my older hen hatched them so I know that they are not too old) my question is do wellsummers take longer to start to lay?

Yipee, came home to find another egg, this time a dark shell so must have come from Tikka, not in the nest box but on the lawn, 2 of out 4 of my girls now laying. I guess the other two can't be far behind.

I've been reading up about Welsummers, apparently they can be as late as 8 months old before they start laying, and only lay every 2 days. They're not good mums either! Not a lot going for them really is there ............................ except they are a bit beautiful
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

It is interesting that you describe the 'numbered' sizes as 'traditional', because I (and no doubt several others) can remember when those sizes came into use. Previously it was Large, Standard, Medium and Small.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
