In a bid to cheer my manic depressive girls up I decided to give their run a bit of a revamp today. I have been at it ALL day...but can finally say it's finished. It doesn't look like there would be much work involved, but I had to clear away all their old flooring before I could lay the new....and the perches, and the holes for the bush...and the hole for the tree trunk, and the dust bath...etc etc etc....
The girls enjoyed free ranging whilst I worked - often popping in to help me when I was hole digging.
They're back inside now - and appear to be enjoying themselves...so I'm happy.
Here's hoping that they'll cheer up a bit, and maybe...just maybe...lay me a wee egg?!?!
Ps: The reason they are always in that far left hand corner is that their mirror is hanging there, and they are sooooo vain it's frightening - obsessed with the thing!!!

I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!

looks incredible... no wonder there's no eggs, they feel like they're on vacation and that mirror is just absorbing to much of their time!

Battery hens certainly don't get spoilt in the first year of their life yet lay nearly every day. Having said that my family and friends all say my girls are spoilt rotten and they haven't stopped laying all winter. Everyone laughs at me nowadays and says the only language I speak is chickenese.
