Anyone grow cassava?

I tried tapioca for the first time and I was wondering if it's possible to grow cassava. It seems is very hardy as well as tolerant of a wide range of soils, but doesn't like cold. I don't think I have ever seen plants/tubers for sale, so I suspect the answer is no.

They sell it on real seeds under unusual tubers as Yacon. I've also seen threads on it on here somewhere.

Thanks. They look alike but there are two different plants. I haven't tried yac�n yet, so I don't know if they taste similar or not.

They look very similar to the ones sold here at the market.
If you think they will grow from a tuber I'll happily get you one.....but take no responsibility for subsequent cyanide poisoning

Thanks Tesco on-line has cassava from time to time and I'd imagine they are easy to find in international markets in Belfast and Dublin.

If it's possible to grow cassava in our climate, I will have to research more about the cyanide thing but I think that as longer as it's cooked, roasted or boiled, it's fine. But I'd be worried in case someone steal tubers.

Sorry for the incorrect info lol... I would recommend not killing yourself with the cyanide though . Might be useful for your enemies though.

No worries. They look so alike that I do too though cassava was another name for yacon.
